Why We Love Working With You – Jowita Gawron

1. What do you do at Mood Up?

I am a Product Designer - I am responsible for designing digital products, combining the client's vision and the user's perspective. I take care of the design process from the beginning, i.e. research, to the end, i.e. the release of the overall mockup of the application in high resolution. In doing so, I use User Experience and User Interface Design skills.

2. Do you remember your first days on the job? What feelings accompanied you?

I had yet to learn what was ahead of me and where I would end up. That was three years ago, and a lot has changed. I was scared at first. The whole situation was certainly not helped by the fact that it was the beginning of the pandemic, and I only went to a full-time job six months after being hired. However, I can now call myself a veteran; no challenge is scary.

3. What did your career path at Mood Up look like?

I started at Mood Up in the position of Graphic Designer. After six months or so, I moved up to Junior Product Designer. I learned many things from scratch and gained knowledge as I went along. Thus, after three years, I am a Product Designer and a UX team leader.

4. What qualities and skills are necessary for the position of User Experience Designer?

First of all, analytical and critical thinking skills. Even if the position is more of a creative one, you need to know the processes and their implementation. So it combines creativity and analytical, more strict and complex skills. In addition, there is a train for continuous learning and development. Without that, you can't move!

5. What work-related event/project/achievement will stay in your memory for a long time?

A year-long project with UNICOMM. It was the first project I led from start to finish, and I had the opportunity to go through all project phases with a knowledgeable client. It taught me a lot and brought me extraordinary experiences.

6. What do you like to do outside of work hours?

I love reading philosophical and historical books but often watch sci-fi movies. I am very interested in the impact of artificial intelligence on culture.
After working hours, I go to cultural and musical events and occasionally shoot video coverage of them and take photos.
I have a penchant for making various graphics (mostly music) and am an amateur at glueing music videos and general fun with images. I'm a VJ at VIR Gallery - currently "retired" but coming back soon, so stay tuned! :)
