Why We Love Working With You – Kamila Kulisiewicz
1. What do you do at Mood Up?
At Mood Up, I’m taking care of projects, products and the people working on them. As a Senior Project Manager I’m responsible for outcomes along with the good communication between clients and rest of the stakeholders.
2. Do you remember your first days at work? What feelings accompanied you?
My first days at the company were great and fast paced. Right after opening the door I met a lot of friendly people and could feel the closeness between teammates. I had a few onboarding meetings with HR, the CEO, and other colleagues which made me feel like they care about newcomers and want to make us comfortable from the get-go. It was also the first time I tried the famous rogale świętomarcińskie (that’s the advantage when you come from a different city).
3. What did your career path at Mood Up look like?
I joined the company as a Project Manager and after a year and a half was promoted to senior position. I’d say growing in this field is an ongoing and motivating challenge. There isn’t a moment where you can say you’ve learned it all. Also, having thick skin is something you might want to have.
Working in Mood Up teaches you and challenges you through many unique situations. You sometimes deal with easy clients just as well as tough ones. You can be responsible for ~20-person teams, but also teams with just a few people assigned. Projects that are quick and less complex and others that are rocky and extensive. Good thing is if you do it right, you’ll be satisfied seeing how hard work pays off.
4. What qualities and skills are necessary for the position of Senior Project Manager?
The top skills I would point out are how well you can adapt and think a few steps ahead. Roads can get bumpy but it’s how you respond to situations. As a Project Manager you face many difficulties and you should be ready to solve them all. The attitude, turning off emotions and being ready to actively listen. In IT (or any other field) in order to listen and be able to do something about the message you should understand the language. Language can be technical - you have to learn it.
5. What work-related event/project/achievement will stay in your memory for a long time?
Probably when one of our toughest clients said that I'm the best project manager he’s ever worked with in his career. Hearing this definitely gives you wings and stays with you.
6. What do you like to do outside of work hours?
I like to stay busy and active. I love biking (including motorcycling), being in nature, traveling and learning about people. My other interest areas are around economy, business and real estate. I enjoy having hobbies that continuously push me forward and expand my knowledge.
